At 16, June Satoru was the oldest child in a back country orphanage in Japan. She was a natural protector to the other 45 children that subsisted on the minimum of life's necessities that the orphanage could provide. Life would forever be changed when planet Earth was invaded by the giant, flesh eating, six legged, Konchuu. They appeared through an undiscovered time portal 10 miles north of the city Nankoku. As devastation and terror reigned throughout the country those at the orphanage prepared for what would surely be their last night alive.
The last surviving elder came to June with an old bamboo box. He told her the day she was left at the front door of the orphanage this box was next to her with a folded note. It stated that there would be a day when there was no hope in the world and the contents of this box together with this child would be needed to help save what would be left of mankind. As June opened the box there was a strangely familiar smell that tingled her senses and filled her lungs.
To her surprise the box was all but empty. In the bottom lay the dried bud of a small flower. Its powerful smell filled the room. June felt the sudden and odd shift in her body. Something was changing her. It was then she realized that she was floating off the ground...
